Mary "LORRAINE" Gilmartin Dranchak age 77 of Trumbull, the widow of John Dranchak, passed away on Monday January 10, 2011 in Bridgeport Hospital. Lorraine, a retired Production Control Analyst for Sikorsky Aircraft was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late Edward and Julia (Hyduchak) Gilmartin and has been an area resident for over fifty years. She attended high school in Scranton and was a graduate of Sacred Heart University, Fairfield. Lorraine was a lifetime member of St. George's Orthodox Church in Taylor, PA and St. John's Orthodox Church Bridgeport, and was very proud of her Russian heritage. She loved music, and was very well read and versed on any subject from politics to religion and culinary topics. At an early age she acted as her "Baba's" eyes and ears to the world, since she did not speak any English. Lorraine loved dogs and received a great deal of joy from pet sitting for her friends while they were vacationing. Survivors include her beloved son John S. Dranchak and his wife Andrea of Fairfield, her cherished grandchildren who she adored John Anthony and Sophia Leonora, her siblings Ann Gilmartin of Scranton, PA, Joan Revilak of Jessup, PA, Edward Gilmartin and his wife Celeste of Scranton, PA, and Rita Beckley and her husband Thomas of Exton, PA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Saturday January 15th at 8:45 a.m. from the Semian Funeral Home 704 Union Street Taylor, PA and at 9:30 a.m. in St. George's Orthodox Church Taylor for a Divine Liturgy and Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. George's Cemetery Taylor, PA. Friends may call on Thursday from 1-3 p.m. (Panachida at 2:45 p.m.) in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, CT, and on Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the Semian Funeral Home.
