It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Evers, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the Greater Bridgeport UU community on January 29, 2025, at the age of 97.

Born in Woodstock, Illinois on August 26, 1927, she lived a life filled with love, kindness, and unwavering strength. Mary was a supportive mother and a cherished grandmother. She was known for her warm smile, quilting, baking delicious cookies and bread, quick wit, scrabble playing and birdwatching.  As a lifelong member of the League of Women Voters, Mary Evers was devoted to women's rights. She was a proud alumna of the University of Chicago. Mary Evers will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Bridgeport, 275 Huntington Rd, Stratford, CT 06614 on Saturday March 1 at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, Mary's favorite charities are the UU Church and Habitat for Humanity.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford.
