Mary Skumanich Demora age 96 of Stratford passed away on July 31, 2008 in Huntsville, Alabama. Mrs. Demora, the widow of Stephen Demora was born in Jessup, PA to the late Steve and Mary (Sicak) Skumanich and has been a long time area resident. She was retired from Bryant Electric/Westinghouse and Anderson Little Clothing Store. Survivors include her devoted children Col (Ret) Stephen J. Demora Jr and his wife Janice of Huntsville, AL, and Helen Ann Domis and her husband Eugene of Columbia, SC, a sister Anna Kalinich and her husband George of Stratford, 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was pre-deceased by a sister Helen Stuchlak, and brothers John and Steve Skumanich. The family wishes to express a deep and abiding gratitude to all of her friends, especially George and Anna Kalinich, Eleanor Gilbertson, Patricia and Manfred Brideau, and Al and Stella Chapar, who provided so much comfort and support to her for so many years. Your kindness will be long remembered. Funeral services will take place on Friday August 8th at 10:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 11 a.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church Nichols for a Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Union Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. Panachida at 6:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church.
