Mary Kochiss Chmielewski, age 94, formerly of Stratford, the widow of Louis T. Chmielewski, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Lutheran Home in Southbury. Mary, a homemaker was born in Bridgeport to the late Michael and Anna (Pjura) Kochiss, and has been a life long area resident. Survivors include her devoted son, Louis Chmielewski and his wife Anne Marie of Southbury, 2 cherished grandchildren, Louis T. Chmielewski and his wife Dawn of Milford, and Luann Lucatino and her husband Lou of Southbury, 5 great-grandchildren, Thomas, Catherine, Nicholas, Louis, and Amber, 2 sisters Irene Bekech and her husband George of Trumbull, and Katherine Samorajczyk of Bridgeport, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was pre-deceased by her brothers, Michael, William and Charles Kochiss, and sisters Evelyn Pcolka, and Helen Gerak. Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 17th at 10 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 9-10 a.m.
