Obituary

Mary Novak Bill, of Trumbull, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 3, 2012. Born in Bridgeport, on April 26, 1910, to the late Anastasia and George Novak, Mrs. Bill had lived in Trumbull for fifty-eight years. She was preceded in death by her husband C. Lewis Bill, who owned, Park Gardens Floral Shop, for most of his life. Also preceding her in death were her son, Lewis Drew Bill of Trumbull, sister Ann Blatter of Phoenix, AZ, brother Joseph Novak of Stratford, and a great-grandson, David Onze. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary-Lew Chevalier and her husband Robert of Bedford, VA, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, four nephews, and a sister, Helen Davis of Las Vegas. Mrs. Bill, was a charter member of the Widows and Widowers Association for twenty-two years, and was President and Chairwoman for many years. She was also a member of the Mother's and Daughter's Club of St. John's C.R.O. Church on Mill Hill Avenue, Bridgeport, and she held every office on the executive board of the church. She was Past President and Secretary of the Woman's Council of Eastern Orthodox Christian Churches, a member of the Nichols N.I.A., the Trumbull Historical Society, and a line dance instructor at the Seymour Senior Center, and the Shelton Senior Center, where she taught for a total of thirty years. She was also a member of N.A.L.T. and was a floral designer for thirty years in her late husband's business. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, November 10th at 8:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 9 a.m. in the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 2-5pm. Panachida at 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations in Mary's memory to a charity of choice.
