Mary Principia Beney, age 92, of Shelton, formerly of Fairfield, Greenwich and Cheshire, CT and Florida passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Shelton Lakes Health Care Center. Born in Greenwich to the late Saverio and Theresa (Chieffo) Glionna , she has been a life long area resident. Mary was a careful Woman who took great cares in being selective throughout her life. As practical as she was, Mary had her own way of loving those she kept close to her heart. She was extremely adept in the kitchen. As a lover of simple, wholesome and fresh cuisine—she nourished her loved ones with her wonderful meals and desserts. Her life was focused on consistently maintaining a happy and orderly home and entertaining. She was a volunteer for many years as well as an avid reader. Her presence and laughter will never be forgotten... She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Beney and favorite son-in-law, Joseph Bratchell. Mary is survived by a daughter, Dorothy Bratchell of Huntington, CT, a son, Douglas Beney II and wife June of Monroe, CT, grandchildren: Louis Santoro, Sarah Bratchell & Aaron Hawkins, Douglas Beney III, a great-granddaughter, Lacey Santoro, a sister Adeline Mulligan and several nieces and nephews as well as the Bratchell family.
