Mary E. Dankulich Bednarz, age 93, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Chester Bednarz, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in the Jewish Home, Bridgeport. Mary was born in Old Forge, Pennsylvania to the late Michael and Anna (Markovich) Dankulich, and has been a long time area resident. She was a 1941 graduate of Old Forge High School. Mary retired from North Sails, and previously worked at Remington Arms and American Fabrics. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, but above all else, loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her devoted children; Marcia A. Thrush and her husband Stephen of Shelton, Ronald C. Bednarz and his wife Estelle of Stratford, and Stephen M. Bednarz and his wife Cathy of Arizona, 2 cherished granddaughters, Jennifer Bress and her husband Matthew and Heather Bednarz, 2 great-grandchildren, Jaxson and Nora Anne, also all of Arizona and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Mary was pre-deceased by her sisters, Irene Hanley, Margaret Riffon, and Anna Bobrowski and brother, John Dankulich. The Bednarz family would like to thank everyone at Jewish Senior Services, for their continued support and help throughout the years. They would also like to thank the nurses and aides at Katie Grace House for their compassionate and loving care. Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 6 ^th at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 11 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 9-10:30 a.m.
