IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Martha Elena
Quinones Rodriguez
December 14, 1955 – May 24, 2024
Martha Elena Quinones Rodriguez (Marty), age 68, of Stratford, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024. She was born on December 14th, 1955 in Yauco, Puerto Rico to the late Luis Quinones and Martha Rodriguez. In her younger years, Martha was a passionate teacher in Puerto Rico. After moving to the States, she built a career at the WWE in Stamford, CT where she was an innovator and integral merchandise expert for WWE events. In her later years, Martha worked as a manager for Kohls Department Store in Trumbull until she retired.
Martha was an amazing mother and aunt. She doted on her nieces and nephews, and was incredibly close with her cousins. Family was the most important thing to Martha, and her dedication to her family was witnessed every day by those around her. She loved going to her grandson's baseball and basketball games, and cheering him on. She found peace, quiet and relaxation, sitting on the front porch, sipping her coffee and chatting with neighbors. She was a trustworthy and dependable friend, always lending an ear for support and words of wisdom to help others.
When no one was watching, and even when they were, Martha could be found dancing around her house to her favorite Salsa music with a duster or bottle of cleaning solution, singing and smiling. She LOVED to clean! She was a lover of animals, and her kindness to all creatures is something she passed down to her children.
Martha was a strong and independent woman, sarcastic, funny and kind. She genuinely loved the people she pulled into her circle and her heart carries on in all of those that knew her and were lucky enough to stand in that circle.
Martha is survived by her devoted children, Desy "Tito" Torres and his wife Megan, Dennisse Torres McDowell and her husband Joe, her cherished grandchildren, Joshua McDowell and Isabel Torres, sister Martha "Lissy" Justiniano, nieces Liz Marie Justiniano and Jessica Harris, nephew Joshua Justiniano, cousins Carmen Torres, Rosa Morris, Raul Moris and aunt Carmen Garcia.
Friends may greet the family on Friday May 31st, 2024 from 4 to 7pm.
Internment will be private.
