Obituary

Martha Bierbaum Dedrick, of Stratford, passed on to her eternal resting place with Our Lord on Sunday, December 04, 2011 surrounded by the love of family. Born in Bridgeport, August 18, 1915, to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Janney) Bierbaum. She resided in Fairfield, and was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School. Moving to Bridgeport (Black Rock) she worked for many years for the Bullard Company until moving to Stratford. She was a retired State of Connecticut Department of Unemployment Compensation employee. Martha was the devoted wife of the late Frank M. Dedrick for 53 years. She is survived by her beloved daughter Barbara D. Carbone and son-in-law Anthony G. Carbone of Stratford. She was a dedicated grandmother (Gram) to Laura Loretan (Tom) of Trumbull, David Carbone (Kathleen) of Glastonbury, Elizabeth McIlhoney (Ray) of Milford. Great Grandchildren Meghan Rose, Kyle Elizabeth and Jack Loretan, Gina Raucci, Catherine Carbone and Bailey and Raymond McIlhoney. Martha enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking for her family and traveling with Frank. She volunteered for many years with the American Red Cross at the VA Hospital in West Haven, CT. She was pre-deceased by her brother Robert and sister-in-law Margaret Bierbaum of Fairfield, Martha's family is very grateful for the kindness and wonderful care and concern she received from the special second floor staff at Lord Chamberlain Nursing Facility, especially Theresa, Doris, Tony, Janeen, Danielle, Melissa, Tammy, Barbara, Katie, Addie, Alicia, Maria, Ms Burns and all administrators, especially Mr. Bates. Thank you. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday December 7th for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Burial Park, Fairfield, CT. Calling hours have been omitted. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford.
