Marian P. Sloan Gabriele, 90, of Shelton, CT, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 24, 2022, after a brief illness at Bridgeport Hospital with her three loving daughters by her bedside.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Shelton Road, Trumbull, CT, by our dear family friend Fr. Mark Vaillancourt.  The family welcomes friends to attend the mass, but wishes for the internment to be private.

Marian was born on April 9, 1932, in Broadway, NC to Landon and Maude (McCormick) Sloan but spent her early years growing up in Wilmington, NC.  She married Anthony J. Gabriele in 1952 and relocated to Trumbull, CT where they raised their four children.

Employed by Sikorsky Aircraft for 25 years, Marian was a pioneer for promoting women in the workforce by landing a position in the Purchasing Department as a Major Subcontract Administrator working on the Black Hawk Helicopter program.

Upon retirement, Marian shared her time between Connecticut and Naples, Florida where she became an avid golfer and proudly displayed her "Hole in One" award.   She always made sure to point it out to friends and family visiting!

Marian is lovingly survived by Lucian Raynor, her long-time companion of 40 years, her three daughters, Victoria Priddle of Shelton, CT, Susan and Brian (son-in-law) Casey of Stratford, CT, and Leslie MacLeay of New Milford, CT.  She was predeceased by her loving son Anthony (TJ) Gabriele, Jr., her sister, Judy S. Colvin, and brother, Landon (Jack) Sloan.

Her "Grands" were her pride and joy and lovingly known as Gram and Gigi.   She is survived by her seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Michael, Brian, Landon, Paige and Ava, and her six great-grandchildren, Mia, Emma, Carson, Julia, Tori and Taylor who she loved dearly.

In addition, she is survived by her sister, Faye Quinlivan, two brothers, Andrew Sloan, Harry Sloan, and many nieces and nephews
