Mrs. Marian Pinkosky Schneider, Age 97, of Fairfield, formerly of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late James Schneider. Marian was born in Mt. Carmel, PA on February 14, 1916 to the late John and Mary Balog Pinkosky. Marian was Secretary for the Bridgeport Board of Education Superintendent's Office and retired in 1981. She was a member of Augustana Association, St. Ambrose Seniors, The Bridgeport Municipal Retirees Association and Heart Beats of Bridgeport Hospital. She is survived by three daughters, Elaine Peterson and Marilyn Atkinson both of Milford, and Janice O'Connor and husband Kenneth of The Villages, FL; six grandchildren, Dawn Parmalee and husband Fred, James Peterson and wife Mary Jo, Leonard Atkinson, Esq., Donna Atkinson, Deborah O'Connor, and Kenneth O'Connor III. There are six great grandchildren, Dana and Brooke Parmalee, Kenneth IV and Cailie O'Connor, and Ryan and Carly Peterson. She has one sister-in-law, Tranda Pinkosky. She was predeceased by two brothers, John Pinkosky and Michael Pinkovsky, a sister-in-law Dorothy Pinkovsky, and sons-in-law Richard Peterson and Leonard Atkinson. She is also survived by 3 nephews. Friends may call on Saturday from 8:30-9:30 at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. At 9:30 her funeral procession will leave the funeral home for a mass of Christian Burial at St. Ambrose Church, Boston Avenue, Bridgeport. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Carolton Chronic & Convalescent Hospital for the care and compassion extended to Marian and her family during her stay there.
