Margherita "Marge" A. Sullivan, age 99, of Fairfield passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025 in her home with her loving family by her side.

Born in Bridgeport on August 11, 1926 to the late Michael and Arcangela (Rauso) Merola and has been a lifelong Bridgeport resident until moving to Fairfield in 2017.

Marge devoted many years volunteering with the rectory staff at St. Augustine Cathedral and teaching Pre-Cana classes as well as guiding adults entering the Catholic faith. She loved traveling especially to Italy, Israel, and throughout the United States and never passed up the excitement of a good casino visit. Most of all, she adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, William H. Sullivan, a daughter, Patricia Scaglione, sons-in-law, Domenick M. Scaglione and Stephen C. McLaughlin, siblings, Mary Ovens, Nicholas Merola, Ludovico Merola, Carmela (Lee) Ovens and Anna Maniscalco.

Survivors include her devoted daughters, Carolyn McLaughlin of Stratford and Barbara Sullivan of Fairfield, grandchildren, Kerry Tolisano and her husband Jay of Fairfield, Kevin McLaughlin and his wife Erin of Shrewsbury, MA, Kate McLaughlin of Bridgeport, Laura Scaglione and her husband Dave Pirozzoli of Seymour and Michael Scaglione of Seymour, great-grandchildren, Emmett and Kyle Tolisano, Dylan Court, Gianna Pirozzoli, Avery and Conor Daley, Siobhan, Keelin and Aisling McLaughlin, a sister, Gloria Centopani of  Trumbull and many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Marge's life with a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11 am at St. Pius Church Fairfield. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Bridgeport Rescue Mission or Fairfield Prep's Go Forth Campaign.

The Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
