IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret T.
Van Wyck
December 4, 1932 – April 20, 2020
Margaret T. Van Wyck, age 87, of Guilford, CT., the widow of Herbert T. Van Wyck, was called home to glory to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 20, 2020 while at Lord Chamberlain Health Center in Stratford.
Margaret was born in Youngstown, Ohio on December 4, 1932 to the late Francis and Frances (Cooper) Tennant, and was a loving and devoted wife to Herbert, and to her four children.
For many years while living in Greenwich, Margaret worked at Chancy D'Elia's clothing store on Greenwich Avenue. Following the passing of her husband, Margaret moved with her mother to the quaint community of Old Saybrook. Margaret loved her condo and neighbors, but it was her children and grandchildren who brought her the most delight. Visits with her would include taking in the beautiful sights and sounds of Long Island Sound.
An avid piano player, Margaret thoroughly enjoyed playing the hymns at Westville Bible Chapel in New Haven, CT. While her health permitted, she would drive down from Old Saybrook every Sunday. One of Margaret's favorite hymns was, 'His Name is Wonderful.'
Survivors include her four sons and six grandchildren, Walter Van Wyck and his wife Anna of Oxford, with daughters Sarah Thayil (FL) and Emily (OH); Timothy Van Wyck and his wife Susan of Ellington, with son Nathan and daughter Holly; Peter Van Wyck of Branford; and William Van Wyck and his wife Erica of Darien, with daughter Grayson and son Cook.
The Adzima Funeral Home-Stratford has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements, and a private ceremony will be held at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY.
