Obituary

Margaret A. Hobson Bailey Schwetz, age 89 of Stratford passed away on Sunday June 10, 2007 at Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center in Stratford with her loving family at her side. Mrs. Schwetz, a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft, was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Melville and Genevieve (Mc Keon) Hobson and had been a life long area resident. Her hobbies included ceramics, crocheting, and doing word search puzzles. The happiest times of "Nanny's" life was spending time with her loving family. She was the widow of Edward Schwetz. Survivors include her beloved children Beatrice Trompetta and her husband Sam of Shelton, Robert Bailey and his wife Linda of Woodbury, Margaret Ware and her husband Douglas of Vernon, Genevieve Fox and her husband Robert of Stratford and step-son Edward Schwetz of Florida, daughters-in-law Florence Bailey and Andrea Morris, her cherished grandchildren Edward Bailey, Patricia Bailey-Miller, Daniel and Carl Trompetta, Debbie Rubenstein, Denise Maseto, Dawn Bennett, Lynn Nightingale, Lori Smarz, Cori Catandella, Cindy Sampson, Peggy Schwetz, Christine Crowder, and Susan Watso, 26 great-grandchildren, a brother Melville Hobson Jr and his wife Carol of Trumbull and a sister Marion Lathrop of Milford, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sons Roger Bailey and Eugene Schwetz, a granddaughter Colleen Bailey a grandson James Ware and a sister Genevieve Borner. The family wishes to thank the staff on the 2nd floor at Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the warm, compassionate care that she received during her final days. A special thank you also goes to the staff of the VNS of Connecticut for their kind professional guidance and hospice care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday June 13th at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church Stratford. Private Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday (Today) from 4-7 p.m. In the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the A-T Children's Project, 668 South Military Trail, Deerfield Beach, Florida 33442 or donate online at www.atcp.org in honor of Margaret's great-grandson Robbie Smarz who is afflicted with the disease.
