Margaret Chanda Gorlo, age 100, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late John P. Gorlo, passed away on October 8, 2021, in Middlebury Convalescent Home.

Margaret was born in Stratford on July 21, 1921, to the late Stephen and Julia (Pjura) Chanda. Margaret spent most of her life as a Stratford/Bridgeport resident and was a graduate of Stratford High School, class of 1937. Margaret was the retired proprietor of Gorlo's Beauty Salon and was the hairdresser for Van Doren Convalescent Home for over thirty years. She was very proud of having served the war effort in Virginia as a beautician during WWII. Margaret loved to travel and valued family more than anything else. She was kind and generous to those around her.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Melanie Townsend of Arizona, brother, Daniel Chanda of Stratford, sister, Frances Roberts of California, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Marge was pre-deceased by her beloved son, Daniel Gorlo, brothers, William, Joseph, Stephen, and John Chanda, and sisters, Pauline Hudak, Regina Raslavsky, Anne Millett, Dr. Catherine Anderson, Irene Kollar, and Marie Ernst.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 25th at 10:30 a.m. meeting directly at St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford. The Adzima Funeral Home in Stratford has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
