Margaret Mary Furo DeMezzo 91, formerly of Stratford, passed away peacefully with her family around her on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at home in Prospect. She now rejoins her beloved husband Matthew R. DeMezzo of 51 years, who predeceased her in 1996. They will now be forever together united in eternal peace and happiness. Margaret, born to Margaret (Lukach) Furo and Eli Steven Furo of Gary, West Virginia was the final survivor of 6 children. She was predeceased by her brothers, George, Frank and Eli Furo, sisters Helen (Furo) Graham, and Dorothy Furo, also daughter-in-law Francene (Rogers) DeMezzo and son-in-law James (Jimmy) Wahl. Margaret loved baking, crocheting, puzzles, and playing cards with friends and neighbors, cooking for holidays and special occasions, and most of all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Gary F. DeMezzo of Milford, Son, David M. DeMezzo (Joyce) of Lordship, daughter, Diane DeMezzo Wahl Aguzzi (Richard) of Prospect, with whom she resided with for the last 6 years. Grandchildren, Kristen DeMezzo Fennell (Dean) of Stratford, Lori DeMezzo Soderholm (Karl) of Milford, Gerad F. DeMezzo (Amy) of Stratford, Sandra Wahl Tomboly (John) of Meriden, David M.DeMezzo Jr. (Sarah) of Oxford, Matthew J. Wahl (Maritza) of Prospect and Jackie Wahl of Naugatuck. 17 Great-grandchildren-Devin and Brooke Fennell, Katlyn, Elizabeth and Erik Soderholm, Tyler Stefanko, Mia, Niko and Grant DeMezzo, Johnny Tomboly, Lillian and David M.DeMezzo lll, Matthew, Michael and Mariah Wahl, Payton Perillo and Aiden Stokes. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, 8 Godchildren and many many close friends. Hers was a life well served, dedicated to the Lord, her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 9th at 10 a.m. meeting directly at St. Mark's Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment will be private. Friends may greet her family on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green place Stratford.
