Margaret Bova Dattolo, age 86, of Shelton, formerly of Stratford, the beloved widow of August L. Dattolo, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Benchmark Senior Living at Split Rock in Shelton. Margaret was born on April 5, 1930 to the late Louis and Cecelia (Koeppel) Bova. A former buyer for FAST in Stratford, "Peggy" took pride in her family and home. She enjoyed quilting and crafting and worked tirelessly in her beautiful garden. Peggy had a powerful singing voice; was a former singer on radio and took part in her church's musical productions. She will be missed by her devoted children, Gary Dattolo and his wife Linda of Trumbull, Linda Andujar and her husband Albert of Bridgeport and Vincent Dattolo and his wife Frances of Charlotte, NC, her grandchildren, Albert Andujar and wife Rebecca, Stephanie MacLeman and husband Michael, Scott Andujar and his partner Alegre Poniros, Maggie, Katharine and Patrick Dattolo. She will also be missed by Jessica and James Mangini, her great grandchildren, Nathaniel and Mackenzie Andujar and Steven and Matthew Mangini. She is also survived by a sister, Virginia Schultz of Stratford and several nieces and nephews In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by four children; Bruce, Peter, Gina Marie and William. We would like to thank her Benchmark at Split Rock family for the exceptional care, dedication and love that they gave to Peggy and the kindnesses extended to our family. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 12 ^th at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Inurnment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or The Lewy Body Dementia Association.
