Fida – Lydia Fida, age 69 of the Huntington section of Shelton, wife of Dr. Joseph R Fida, passed away on Tuesday evening February 19, 2008 in St. Vincent's Medical Center after a valiant battle with cancer. Born and resided in Bridgeport and formerly of Trumbull she is the daughter of Theresa Leopardi Vecchio and the late Frank Vecchio. Survivors in addition to her husband and mother include her sons Mark J Fida, Joseph R Fida and Gregory J Fida and his wife Michelle of Shelton, grandchildren Shelby, Mitchell, Brooke and Chase Fida all of Shelton. Lydia was devoted to her family and grandchildren. The family is deeply grateful to Bishop Robert McKenna, Monsignor Joseph Pekar and Father Charles Ringley for spiritual solace they afforded Lydia in her suffering. Funeral services will be on Friday at 9:15 in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Pl. Stratford and 10:00 am in St. Lawrence Church in Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial with Father Charles Ringley officiating. Friends are invited to call on Thursday (TODAY) from 4 – 8 pm.
