Lieutenant, Colonel, Charles J. Nolin USAF (ret), age 84 of Bridgeport passed away on Sunday February 14, 2010 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Chuck, a retired officer in the Unites States Air Force, serving from 1943-1975 in Alaska, France, and Africa was born in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late Charles and Eveline (Perron) Nolin and has been a long time area resident. He was a member of the Air Force Association, the Thunderbird Alumni and was a Private Charter Pilot. His love of flying began as a child and remained throughout his lifetime. Survivors include his beloved wife Kathleen Schrum Nolin, his step-children Jeffrey Kohut of Bridgeport and Cathy Kohut and her partner Christine Clark of Monroe, his daughter-in-law Suzanne Lesko Kohut and her partner Meaghan Monahan of Bridgeport, his cherished grandchildren whom he loved dearly Jessica Lynn Kohut and her fiancé Jon Wigglesworth and Thomas John Kohut, his sister Claire Snipes of NC and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his stepson John M. Kohut. Funeral services will take place on Friday February 19th at 9 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church Nichols for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford.
