Louis J. Poirier, age 90 of the Lordship section of Stratford the beloved husband of Madelyn Andrews Poirier passed away on Thursday March 24, 2011 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Poirier, a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II was born in Moncton, Canada to the late James and Demetes Poirier and has been a long time area resident. He was a retired inspector for Remington Rand and was the recipient of a Purple Heart for being wounded in action, and was a member of the D.A.V. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include his devoted sons James Poirier and his companion Dawn Groters of Stratford and Mark Poirier and his wife Marianne of Shelton, a grandson Michael Poirier Jr. and a great-granddaughter Madelyn Rose. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his son Michael. Funeral services will take place on Monday March 28th at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to Bridgeport Hospital's Hospice.
