Lisa Marie Simko Smith, loving mother and generous beyond measure, passed away suddenly on February 6, 2025, at the age of 59, at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven.
Lisa was born on December 13, 1965, in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Annette Bucci Simko and the late Charles Simko. Her life was a testament to her dedication to loved ones and her sense of adventure. In 1985, she married Geoffrey Smith, and together they raised two children, the loves of her life she poured her whole self into, daughter Nicole Smith (Ralph), and son Geoffrey Smith (Kelley). Lisa completed a B.S. in accounting from San Jose State University and became an accomplished independent CPA. She was also a talented painter and joyful antiquer. She built a beautiful bi-coastal life for her family in California and Connecticut, cherishing the unique charms of each place she called home. Lisa's heart was vast and welcoming, embracing her family, friends, and felines with warm affection. She was known for her love of The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen, often filling her home with music and records that reflected her vibrant spirit. Lisa's legacy is one of love, laughter, and music, a harmonious blend of the elements she treasured most. Her celebration of life will continue, and she will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
In addition to her mother, husband, and two children, Lisa is survived by her sister Lynn Simko (Ed Nilsen) and her brother Chuck Simko (Janis); along with her stepchildren, step grandson, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and two beloved cats Precious and Clark.
