Obituary

Leo C. "Cookie" Devan, age 82 of Stratford, the widower of Ramayne Cummings Devan, passed away in his home on Friday, November 18, 2011. Leo, a Sergeant of the US Army National Guard Battery "A" 283" AAA BN.CNG, Camp Edwards, MA was born in Bridgeport to the late Leo D. and Ethel (Kuhnast) Devan and has been a life long area resident. At an early age Leo worked for Borden's Dairy until he owned and operated the Devan Package Store in Bridgeport and later retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation. He was predeceased by his wife, a brother William Devan and a nephew Erich C. Devan. Survivors include his beloved daughter Darlene Devan of Milford, a sister-in-law Joan Devan of Milford and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 9:15 am in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:00 am in St Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Mountain Grove Cemetery of Easton. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 pm.
