Laurese Ganim Coury, age 99, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Louis Coury, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 in her home. Laurese, the former proprietor of Coury Real Estate was born in Bridgeport on July 10, 1918 to the late Wanis and Rose (Baghdady) Ganim and has been a life long area resident. She was a graduate of Stratford High School, Housatonic Community College and the University of Bridgeport. Laurese was a member of the Greater Bridgeport Board of Realtors, and enjoyed swimming. Survivors include her devoted children, Corinne Coury of Orange, Wayne Coury and his wife Nancy of Milford and Rana Coury-Raymond and her husband Michael of Woodbridge, 6 cherished grandchildren, Matthew (Heather) Brown, Raina Brown, Coury Brown, Wayne (Ashley) Coury, James Coury and Joseph Coury, 2 great-grandchildren, Helena and Maddie, 2 brothers, Davis W. Ganim and his wife Joan of Stratford and George Ganim Sr. and his wife Josephine of Easton, a sister, Virginia Baghdady of Weston, MA, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Laurese was pre-deceased by her brothers, Joseph, John and Raymond Ganim, and sister, Jeanette Owen. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, August 2 ^nd at 9:45 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church 2070 Main St Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may greet her family on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
