IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kimberly A.
Gay
December 3, 1962 – January 26, 2025
Kimberly Ann Gay, 62, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 26, 2025, at Bridgeport Hospital.
Kimberly was born December 3, 1962, to the late Marcella Bartolo (Manzella) & Richard Mitchell. She was raised in Stamford, CT and raised her family in Stratford. She was the beloved wife of David Gay and mother/step-mother (Mim) to their four kids.
Kimberly was known by many names throughout her life by those who knew her best: Kim, Kimmy, Kim-bo, Mom, Mim, and Mimsy. David even called her his Rand McNally before GPS was available to all. She was a bright, quick-witted, and loving woman who had an amazing memory. She was always quick to look on the bright side of life and never let challenges stand in her way. She will be remembered for her forthrightness and determination. In her prime, Kim was always dressed to the nines, with the greatest heels you could imagine. She was a force to be reckoned with.
Kim worked for many years for Mercedes-Benz and later for NetSol Technologies, bringing her dedication and expertise to both companies.
Kim always carried with her a sense of adventure - often taking trips with David; Las Vegas, Vermont, Mexico, Lake George were just some of her favorites. She was happiest going on rides on the Harley and they participated in many fun rides and fundraisers. Kim loved Cirque Du Soleil, and saw them many times. She loved sitting in the sunshine with a cup of coffee with her pups. She also loved a good gab session and always had the inside information to share with friends and family.
More than anything, Kim will be remembered for being a steadfast champion in the fight against cancer. She fought for 23 years and took every chance to advance the fight for the cure. First diagnosed in 2001 with Breast Cancer, and later in 2005 when it metastasized to her brain, she never gave up. Her battle was an inspiration to many, and her doctors were proud to be a part of such a courageous journey. Whenever you see a dragonfly, a symbol of hope to Kim and her wig sisters - think of her! She was supported every step by David - he was her steadfast advocate, cheerleader, and caregiver. We will never forget and can not give enough thanks to the many nurses, doctors, therapists, and caregivers who stood with her.
Kim is survived by her husband David Gay and their children: Samantha Pugh (Kenneth), Joshua Terranova (Christie), Tyler Gay (Megan), and Jessica Terranova (Matthew). She is also survived by her brother Mark Michell, step-father Wayne Bartolo, as well as her four grand-children: Kaleb, Summer, Madison, and Lincoln. She will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Thursday January 30, 2025, from 4-7pm at Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford CT.
