Kathleen Harrigan, age 75, of Stratford, passed away at peace on January 22, 2021 in Bridgeport Hospital.

Kathleen was born in Meriden on January 11, 1946 to the late Frederick and Maureen (Ellinger) Sturken. She was a long time Stratford resident and well known for her business Reminisce with Kathy .

She grew up in Wallingford, CT and in 1964 graduated from Lyman Hall High School. She then went on to Castleton State College where she earned her BS degree in Education.

Kathy was a devoted mom to her children Shannon Cleary (Robert Cleary) of Milford and her son Matthew Harrigan (Kathy Harrigan) of Stratford and Nana to her granddaughter Ava Cleary and grandson Brayden Harrigan. Survivors also include her brother Craig Sturken and his wife Mary Ann of Florida, her twin sister Maureen Rodrigues of Deep River and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Kathy was pre-deceased by her brother, Fred Sturken.

Kathy loved her business and the rewards, friendships and fulfillment that it brought her. In 1978, Kathy opened her first antique shop in Bridgeport and went on to successfully operate seven different antique shops throughout the years. During that time, she also operated an estate liquidation business, was an antique appraiser, dealer and liquidator until the Covid-19 pandemic halted her work. Kathy was also a proud second grade teacher for 5 years before she started her success in the antique business.

A graveside funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 27th at 12:45 p.m. in St. John's Cemetery 400 Christian Street Wallingford. Everyone in attendance must follow Covid-19 guidelines; wear a mask and practice social distancing. A mass and memorial service will take place later in the year when Covid-19 is under control.
