Katherine G. “Kay” Bialko, 87, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, leaving behind a loving family and many cherished memories.

 She was the beloved wife of the late Richard S. Bialko. Born in Granville, New York, on October 1, 1938, Kay was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Macura Gilbert and made this area her lifelong home. A 1956 graduate of Harding High School, she went on to enjoy a long career at Sikorsky Aircraft, retiring as a manager in the Human Resources Department. Kay was a devoted member of St. John’s Russian Orthodox Church in Bridgeport, where she shared her time and talents through the annual baking and by coordinating group travel for seniors. Above all, Kay treasured her family.

 She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Wendy Blaisdell, Diane Murray, Richard N. Bialko and his wife, Michele, and Lynda B. Engstrom and her husband, Harold; her six cherished grandchildren; her great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Kay was predeceased by her brothers, Nicholas, Michael, John, Joseph, and Alek Gilbert, and her sisters, Ellen Fialkowski, Anne Wargo, Susan Gulotta, and Mary Semanchik. 

Family and friends may visit on Monday, September 21st, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. A Requiem Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, 364 Mill Hill Avenue, Bridgeport. She will then be laid to rest at St. John’s Cemetery in Monroe. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Kay’s memory to St. John’s Church.
