IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Karen Ann
Parniawski
February 3, 1943 – April 25, 2024
Karen (Brower) Parniawski, age 81, of Trumbull, the beloved widow of Charles Parniawski passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, in her home with her loving daughter Ann, loving grandson Robert and his wife Rebekah by her side. Born in Newport, Rhode Island on February 3, 1943, to the late Carroll Layton and Dorothy (Hardin) Brower, she has been a long-time area resident. A graduate from Milford High School and The University of New Haven, she retired from Textron Lycoming where she was an accounting supervisor.
Karen loved her family and was a dedicated Mother, spending countless hours playing board games and card games, never missing a sporting event for her kids and grandchildren. She loved life and celebrations of any kind. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Charlie all over the USA and many cruises to the Caribbean Islands. Karen loved giving tours of Newport, RI to her daughter and grandson showing the mansions where her mother's curtains still hung, her old home and many beaches where she played as a child. Karen and her husband were snowbirds spending many winters in Florida on the beach watching sunrises and sunsets. Florida was where her love of animals shined through. She was a volunteer for the Southeastern Guide Dogs in Palmetto, FL. As a child she was always bringing home stray animals to give them a "good" home. She loved her cat Noodle and his unconditional love and cuddles every night. He never left her side and was on her bed till her last breath.
Karen had many passions in life, horseback riding, family poker nights, archery, skeet and target shooting, dancing, music and singing, and loved watching the NY Giants. She was always up for a girl's night out, a trip to the casino, a show, or a vacation with her daughter and friends.
Karen lived a life full of zest and fully enjoyed retirement with her husband and family. Towards the end she loved long car rides to anywhere with her daughter where she would tell her stories of childhood and sing- a- longs to the music on the radio, where she would make up her own words. She especially loved driving around seeing Christmas lights and Santa's runway in Trumbull. She would belt out Christmas carols and laugh, which was a beautiful sound. She would always say "I just want my brain back" well, mommy, you are at peace with the lord, fully whole.
Survivors include a son, Charles (Suzanne) of Orange and granddaughters, Elizabeth, Kimberly (Adrian) and Dorothy, daughter, Ann Savo (Bob) of Trumbull and grandson, Robert (Rebekah), a brother, Robert Brower (Lea), several nieces and nephews, and her best friend, Lorraine Pererira. She also had the love of Lorraine Larocca and Maria Larocca. In Addition to husband of 59 years, she was predeceased by a brother Charles Brower.
The family would like to thank the Mozaic adult day program and the employees, especially Allen, her party van driver, and Julie the program nurse. To the Nurses, Nurses Aides and Social workers at Mozaic Hospice; I don't know what I would have done without you. You treated my mother with the utmost respect and dignity in her final days. I will be forever grateful.
