Julia Victoria Vargosko nee Kozicki, 87, passed away on March 27, 2025, in Trumbull, Connecticut.  The cause of death was complications related to Alzheimer's disease.  She is predeceased by her husband of nearly 60 years, Col. Michael A. Vargosko, US Army retired.  She is survived by her two sons, Michael A. Vargosko Jr. (Krzysztof Kolakowski) of Boston, Massachusetts and John C. Vargosko (Sarah Stabley) of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Mrs. Vargosko was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on February 15, 1938, to John and Josephine Kozicki.  She graduated from Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport, CT in 1955 and subsequently graduated from St. Vincent's School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.  She worked in both St. Vincent's Hospital and Bridgeport General Hospital.  In 1960 she married Michael A. Vargosko of Bridgeport, CT and supported him during his career as a U.S. Army officer in many assignments across the US and Europe, as well as his two combat tours in Vietnam.  After her husband's retirement from the US Army, she returned to her career in nursing, working for several private medical practices in Virginia.  Mrs. Vargosko lived in Northern Virginia until 2021 when she moved back to Connecticut.  She resided at Middlebrook Farms at Trumbull until her death.

Mrs. Vargosko will be buried alongside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be announced later.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America in her name.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 11:00 am in St Catherine of Siena Church Trumbul. Interment will be private at a later date in Arlington Cemetery.
