Joseph S. Macura, 87, residing in South Bend, passed away Monday, August 1, 2022, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend following a brief illness.

He was born November 5, 1934, in Bridgeport, CT, a son of the late George and Mary (Grinch) Macura. He was a graduate of the Bridgeport Engineering Institute, and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Macura retired from the Office of Information Technology at the University of Notre Dame.  On August 8, 1963, in Connecticut, Joseph was united in marriage to Carol A. Medvecky who survives. Next Monday, they would have celebrated their 59 ^th wedding anniversary.  Also surviving is his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew & Anna Macura of Loveland, OH, along with two grandchildren, Amelia and Grant Macura both of Loveland, OH; and his sister, Katharine Delkos of Los Angeles, CA.

A Graveside funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 9 ^th at 11:30 a.m. meeting directly at St. John's Cemetery 2610 Nichols Avenue Stratford. Local funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home- Stratford.
