Joseph Patrick Gaydos Sr. age, 75 of Stratford, the beloved husband of Theresa A. (Sturtevant) Gaydos, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2022. Born in Bridgeport on March 17, 1947 to the late Stephen and Cecilia (Bakich) Gaydos and has been a lifelong area resident.  After graduating from Harding High School (Bridgeport), Joe gained a machinist apprenticeship at Remington Arms.  In the fall of 1966, Joe was called to service.  He proudly served our United States Army for 2 years in Vietnam, earning an honorable discharge in 1968.  Following his service, Joe immediately married his high school sweetheart, Terry. Additionally, he returned to Remington Arms, completed his appreticeship, and worked as a machinist up until he and his brother (Richard) opened Gaydos Brothers Roofing and Siding.  After 20 years of being a small business owner, he worked for the City of Bridgeport, where he retired as a Maintenance Supervisor at the Thomas E. Carroll Nutrition Center. Outside of work, Joe enjoyed spending time in his shop as craftsman of all things metal and wood, and maintaining his home and yard. He also enjoyed spending time on his two favorite places: the golf course and his porch. All the while enjoying a good cigar and Corona.

In addition to his beautiful, beloved wife of 54 years, surviors include his devoted children, Joseph P. Gaydos Jr. and his wife Alexandra, Michael S. Gaydos and his wife Carrie, his cherished grandchildren, Isabella, Hailey, Kamryn, and Nathan, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 9-10:30 AM in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, CT. A prayer service will be at 10:30 AM with interment with Full Military Honors in St. John's Cemetery Stratford.
