Joseph "Ushy" Gawron, Sr. age 71 of Stratford, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 28, 2007 in Bridgeport Hospital with his loving family at his side. Born in Bridgeport on Sunday, May 17, 1936 to the late John and Michalina Gawron, he was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport and Stratford. Mr. Gawron was a peacetime veteran and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant from the United States Marine Corp. He was a retired aircraft Mechanic from Textron (AVCO) Lycoming and was a great Fisherman and an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR Racing. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted and loving wife of 47 years Laura LeRoy Gawron, and his three beloved children; son: Joseph, Jr. and wife Sallie, of Milford; daughter's: Lisa Gawron and her companion James Murray of Stratford and Wanda Graziano and her husband Mark of Stratford; his precious grandchildren: Angela, Grace Marie, and Gianna Graziano. Also left to treasure his memory are his sister-in-law's, and brother-in-law along with many nieces and nephews. His sisters Jane Wendland, Wanda Ward, and brothers Stanley and John Gawron predecease him. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. Interment with full military honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Trumbull. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
