Joseph R. DeFeo Sr., age 97, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Leonzi DeFeo, passed away on January 13, 2025.

Joe was born in Southport on February 19, 1927, to the late Joseph and Petronella (Mella) DeFeo and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was retired from Casco Products. Survivors include his devoted sons, David DeFeo and his wife Laure of Stratford, and Joseph R. DeFeo Jr. and his wife Holly of Southbury, 7 cherished grandchildren, Danielle (James) Wood, Jacquelyn (Alex) Blanco, Joseph (Hillary) DeFeo III, Matthew (Tiffany) DeFeo, Brian (Rhiannon) DeFeo, Robert (Sarah) Vozza, and Alexandra Vozza, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Joe was pre-deceased by his brothers, Emil and Anthony and sisters, Genevieve and Teresa.

Visitation on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 22nd at 10 a.m. meeting directly at St. Margaret Shrine 2523 Park Avenue Bridgeport. Inurnment with military honors will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Fairfield.
