Joseph S. Chirsky, age 95, of Stratford, passed away on September 16, 2022, at Jewish Senior Services in Bridgeport.

Joe was born in Bridgeport on January 6, 1927, to the late John and Mary (Kopchik) Chirsky and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a retired inspector for AVCO. Joe was an active member of the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist in Bridgeport, where he enjoyed helping with the "Kitchen Crew".

Survivors include his devoted children, Sue-Ann Lesage and her husband David of Meriden, Stephen Chirsky and his wife Karen of Massachusetts, and Kenneth Chirsky and his companion Dana of Shelton, 5 cherished grandchildren, Andrea (Matt), Olivia (Joel), Kyle, Cristina, and Christian, 3 great-granddaughters, Audrey, Madeline, and Violet, sister, Lillian Droniak and several nieces and nephews. In addition, to his parents, Joseph was pre-deceased by his brothers, John, George, and Michael, and sister, Mary.

Friends may greet his family on Friday, September 23 ^rd from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. A Requiem Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
