Joseph Brainard, age 74, of Bridgeport, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 in St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport. Joe a retired Night Auditor with Best Western in Fairfield was born in Bridgeport to the late Wilbur Brainard Sr. and Delores (Horneck) and stepfather John Horneck, has been a life long Bridgeport resident. Joe also known as "Coach" and "Skybox Joe" was very active with Barnum Festival and love to attend ballgames at Harbor Yard and hockey in Webster Arena. Survivors include two brothers, Wilbur Brainard Jr and his wife Carol of Stratford and Anthony Brainard Sr and his wife Roberta of Wallingford, a sister Carol Caputa of Stratford and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents a brother Charles Brainard predeceased him. A graveside burial will take place on Wednesday April 9 ^th at 11AM in Park Cemetery in Bridgeport. All other services have been omitted.
