Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce that Jonathan Gorman, 70, died suddenly on March 2, 2025 in Bridgeport Hospital.

Jon was preceded in death by his parents Wesley M. Gorman and Elizabeth (Noren) Gorman and his brother Donald C. Gorman. He is survived by his beloved wife Deborah (Debi) Reynolds Gorman, his brother Richard Gorman of Milford, and his sister-in-law Marie Gorman of Poughkeepsie, NY.  He is also survived by his treasured nephews David Gorman, Jonathan Gorman, Kyle Broderick and Kyle's fiance Katherine Stanley.

After graduating from Stratford High School, Jon joined the U.S. Air Force as a musician in 1973.  He was stationed at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey followed by an assignment in the Philippines, traveling the world as a baritone saxophone player in the Air Force Band of the Pacific until November of 1977.  Upon leaving the Air Force, Jon completed a training program at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation and spent his 37 year career there as a machinist.  He was proud to be a part of supplying our troops with quality aircraft.

Jon was an avid motorcyclist throughout his life and rode year-round.  In the past 30 years he was active in local clubs and at various events.  He especially enjoyed riding BMW motorcycles, and traveled near and far to motorcycle rallies, amassing well over 100,000 miles.  He was a member of the Dead Horse Motorcycle Club and several local BMW clubs.  His company was prized by numerous riding partners, all of whom appreciated his skill, wit, sense of humor, and knowledge about a wide range of topics.  Jon will be missed at future events by all who knew him, but he will be well remembered. All services have been private.
