Obituary

Trumbull passed away on Wednesday January 21, 2009 in the Jewish Home in Fairfield. Mr. Zaletta, a WW # II Veteran of the U.S. Navy was born in Bridgeport to the late Andrew and Susan (Soltis) Zaletta and has been a life long Connecticut and Florida resident. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service serving as Post Master in Stratford. John was a lifetime member of the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist Bridgeport, where he was a member of the Senior Citizen's and was a former officer. Survivors include his brothers Cyril Zaletta and his wife Miriam of Arizona and Francis Zaletta of Vermont, a sister-in-law Mary Zaletta of Shelton, his companion Olga Kach of Monroe and several nieces and nephews. He was the widower of Elizabeth Olah Zaletta and was pre-deceased by his brothers Emil and Andrew and a sister Anne Gabor. Funeral services will take place on Saturday January 24th at 9:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in the Carpatho Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Saturday from 8:30 –9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to St. John's Church.
