John J. Slosar age 93 of Shelton, beloved husband of Julia Sulik Slosar, passed away on Wednesday March 9, 2011 in his home. Mr. Slosar, a WW II veteran of the U.S. Army was born in Bridgeport to the late Charles and Ann (Miklus) Slosar and has been a life long area resident. He was a retired mechanic for Hoffman Fuel Company, and was a member of Huntington- VFW and the Shelton Seniors. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife include his devoted daughter Carol Farrell and her husband Robert of Shelton, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was pre-deceased by his 2 infant daughters, brothers Joseph, Paul and Charles and a sister Margaret Shulick. The Slosar family would like to thank West Haven VA MC Home Care Program, the staff at Griffin Hospital, South Central VNA-Comfort Keepers and Agency on Aging and VITAS Hospice for their king and loving care. Funeral services will take place on Saturday March 12th at 9 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Huntington for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
