John Sisko age 83, of Shelton, beloved husband of the late Mary Werner Bullard Sisko, passed away on Monday July 13, 2009 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Mr. Sisko a U.S. Army-Air Corp Veteran of WW II, was born in Cigelka, Czechoslovakia to the late John and Susan (Macechock) Sisko and has been a long time area resident. He was a graduate of the University of Bridgeport School of Engineering and attended Syracuse University and the University of Connecticut. He was a retired engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft and was a member of the Elks and American Legion Sylvan Post. Survivors include his step-son William Bullard and his wife Peggy of Danbury, 4 step-grandchildren Melissa,Billy Stephanie, and Nicole, a sister Helen Garan of Trumbull, 5 nephews Raymond Wagner of Milford, Robert Wagner of Stratford, Dennis Rich of Fairfield, Dennis Garan of Trumbull and Michael Sisko Jr., of Bridgeport, 2 nieces Sister Susan Sisko, and Martha Ann Kierstead both of Pennsylvania, and his care giver Justice Asifuah In addition to his wife and parents he was pre-deceased by a brother Michael Sisko Sr., and 2 sisters Barbara Wagner and Mary Rich. Funeral services will take place on Friday July 17th at 9 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church Nichols for a Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday (Today) from 4-7 p.m. Panachida will be at 6:00 p.m.
