Rushen – John Rushen, age 76 of Stratford passed away on Saturday, November 4th at Cambridge Manor in Fairfield with his loving family by his side. John was born on January 3rd , 1930 in Simpson Pennsylvania to Stanley and Sophie Rushen, and moved to Bridgeport with his family in the early 1940's. A kind and gentle man, John will be remembered fondly by his many friends and relatives. Survivors include his wife, Lillian, with whom he recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, sons John Jr. and Thomas, nieces Barbara Gabriele and Jeanette Lamoreaux, sister-in-law Claudia Thurston and her husband Daniel and a nephew Richard Alston.John was predeceased by his son Robert in March of 1974. John was a Korean War Veteran having served four years in the Air Force from 1948-1952. The family would like to deeply thank the kind generosity and expert care given by the staff at Cambridge Manor where John resided for the past three years. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-7pm in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Pl. in Stratford. Funeral services will be on Wednesday 10:00 am meeting directly at Zion Lutheran Church in Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford with full military honors.
