John Nacovitch, of the Huntington Section of Shelton passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011 in Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Bridgeport to the late Michael and Mary (Pistey) Nacovitch, John has been a life long area resident. He graduated from Bullard Haven Technical School in Bridgeport and was a veteran of the US Army 11th Airborne Signal Company during the Korean War. John worked as a Machinist for over 25 years with United Engineering and retired from the Department of Defense after 20 years of service, and after retirement he worked for Dover Tool where he was a quality control manager. He was an avid sports lover and was a Duckpin bowler for many years at the Barnum Recreational Alleys in Stratford with many different leagues. John was a good carpenter and landscaper and did many odd jobs around his home. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife Theresa Misinonile Nacovitch; a son Mark Nacovitch of Shelton; 3 daughters Darlene Monk and her husband Roger of Warwick, RI, Corinne Dreyer and her husband Jeff of Stratford and Cindy Hulton and her husband Michael of Stratford; 8 grandchildren: John and Taylor Nacovitch, Christina and Jason Monk, Marisa Dreyer, Chris, Allison and Thomas Hulton; several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brother Fred Nacovitch. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 15th at 9 AM in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10AM in St. Lawrence Church in Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial with Full Military Honors following. Interment will be private. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 PM.
