John Lawrence McKeon, age 84, of Bridgeport, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in St. Vincent's Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late John Patrick and Margaret (O'Rourke) McKeon, John has been a life long area resident. He was a retired Salesman for Boorum & Pease and was a Veteran of the US Navy serving in WW II and Korea. John was the widower of Dorothy Dondero to whom he was married for 25 years and his wife of 27 years Dorothy D'Elia. Survivors include a daughter Karen Leveen and her husband Todd of Stratford, five Sons, Dennis McKeon and his wife Joan of Fairfield, Gerard McKeon and his wife Jodi of Stratford, David McKeon of Stratford, Vincent Nichols and his wife Arlene of West Haven and Donald Nichols of South Carolina, a sister Patricia Holton of Brooklyn, 15 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Robert McKeon and 4 sisters, Margaret McGlade, Rosemary Snahk, Eileen Botts and Maureen Herlich. Funeral services will take place on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 12noon in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 1:00 pm in Our Lady of Peace Church in Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with Full Military Honors will be in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. Friend may greet the family on Thursday from 4-7 pm.
