John J. Mc Sweeney age 94 of Bridgeport, the widower of Angelina D'Amato Mc Sweeney passed away on Sunday January 23, 2011 in Milford Health Care Center. Mr. Mc Sweeney, a WW II Veteran of the U. S. Army was born in Bridgeport to the late Jeremiah and Minnie (Fioley) Mc Sweeney and has been a life long area resident. He was retired from the Bridgeport Brass Company. John, and avid golfer, was one of the original founders of Park City Little League. Survivors include his devoted children Barbara Di Stefano and her husband Andy of Milford, and John L. Mc Sweeney and his wife Brenda of Georgia, 3 grandchildren Rick Di Stefano and his wife Gretchen, John Mc Sweeney and his wife Tina and Nolan Ericsson and his wife Lizbeth, 5 great grandchildren Kayleigh and Sydney Di Stefano and John, Megan and James Mc Sweeney. In addition to his beloved wife and parents John was pre-deceased by a grandson Jeff Di Stefano, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. The Mc Sweeney would like to thank the staff of Milford HCC for their kind and loving care. Funeral services will take place on Saturday January 29th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will be in St. Michael's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m.
