It is with a heavy heart that we share the sudden passing of our friend, John Lisej. Born June 12, 1967, John was a lifelong Connecticut resident. John was predeceased by his grandparents, Julia Lisej, Michael Lisej, his aunt, Johanna Thomas, and his uncles, Michael and Peter Lisej. John will be missed by his loving mother, Catherine V. Lisej, from Anthem, AZ. aunts, uncles, cousins, from all over the world, tons of friends, old and new, especially, his best friend, Deb Kandro, who will forever miss her Juan and only. Born in Norwalk Hospital, John grew up in Norwalk, Black Rock, and Ridgefield, ultimately residing in Stratford where he made cherished lifelong friends. A graduate of Stratford High School and Bullard Havens, John enjoyed a career as an electrician. Aside from his work as an electrician, John worked multiple jobs, mostly for pure entertainment. One of his favorites included his years at the Windmill, which afforded him friends from every walk of life and unending, hilarious tales of questionable antics. John was an avid lover of the Jets, Mets, playing softball, umpiring, cool muscle cars and heavy metal music. John will be remembered for his kind heart, laidback personality and quick wit. If you knew John, you loved him. He was a friend to all but particularly loved all four-legged creatures. John befriended them all, even the ones you're not supposed to. His Dr. Doolittle ease with animals was enviable and proved the kindness of his soul. John touched so many lives with his quiet and kind manner, a deep void will remain for all who had the fortune to encounter him.
