John R. Kozak, age 85, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Eva Torony Kozak, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 in his home. Mr. Kozak, a U.S. Army Veteran, was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late John and Anna (Sauko) Kozak, and has been a long time area resident. John was retired from Moore Special Tool Company, and had previously worked for Lettick Typographic Company, and was a member of the Greek Catholic Union. Survivors in addition to his beloved wife of sixty years, include his loving daughters Kathy Cassidy of Wilton, and Judi Fleischer and her husband Michael of Easton, his 6 cherished grandchildren Jim Cassidy and his wife Meghan, Michael and Daniel Cassidy, and Allison, Jen, and Sarah Fleischer, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was pre-deceased by his son-in-law Richard Cassidy, and his sister Mary. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 10th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, and at 10 a.m. in St. John's Byzantine Catholic Church, Nichols for a Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe.
