John Barbuschak Jr., age 98 of Shelton the beloved widower of Doris Oberg Barbuschak, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, in Complete Care of Middlebury.

John was born in Torysky, Czechoslovakia on February 2, 1927, to the late John Barbuschak Sr and Ann (Kascak) Barbuschak and has been a long-time area resident. He was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII and was retired from AVCO Lycoming where he was a contract manager.

Survivors include his son, John S. Barbuschak and his wife Grace of Waterbury, daughters, Donna Goetz and her husband Jim of New Baden, IL, Joan Allen and her husband Paul and Maryann Cassidy and her husband John all of The Villages, FL, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Thursday, November 20th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, followed by a Requiem Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in The Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist 364 Mill Hill Avenue Bridgeport. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford.
