John G. "JACK" Castelot age 80 of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Rita Duch Castelot passed away peacefully on Sunday February 6, 2011 in his home, with his family by his side. Mr. Castelot, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War was born in Stratford to the late Matthew and Mary (O'Brien) Castelot and has been a life long resident. Jack was a retired sales manager for Leader Beverage Company of Fairfield and was the former president of the Holy Name Cardinals Pop Warner football team, was a founding member of the Bunnell High School Gridiron Club, and was an avid fan of his grandchildren's sporting events. Survivors include his 3 devoted children Gary Castelot and his wife Jane of Branford, Nancy Johnson and her husband Kevin of Milford, and Jack Castelot and his wife Julie of Stratford, 7 cherished grandchildren Jannell Bianchi and her husband Mike, Joe, Melissa and Matt Castelot, Kevin Johnson Jr., and Bryan and Michael Castelot, a great-grandson Strummer, 2 sisters Theresa Gerrity of Bridgeport, and Mary Haslob of Mississippi, several nieces and nephews, his beloved friend Max, and dear family friend Jerome Donaher. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 11th at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford. Interment with full military honors will be in Union Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford.
