John Charles Ireland, Jr., 52, died on February 25, 2011 in Bridgeport of heart failure, following a number of years of ill health. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1959, the son of John Charles Ireland and Gloria Vidou Ireland of West Haven, both now deceased. John was most recently Assistant Branch Manager for New Alliance Bank in New Haven. He was a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University and an avid sports fan, particularly devoted to the New York Yankees and the Kansas City Chiefs. He is survived by his sister, Rosemary Ireland Blair of Martha's Vineyard, his niece, Carrie Blair Waltersdorf, and her husband, Kurt Waltersdorf, of Martha's Vineyard and his nephew, Erin Kircher Blair, and his wife, Randa Emery Blair, of Hampton, New Hampshire. He is also survived by his cousin, Edward Peter Vidou of West Haven, his great-nephews William Rand Blair and Davis Ireland Blair of Hampton, New Hampshire, and great-niece Emma Blair Waltersdorf of Martha'sVineyard. The Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. A private memorial service will be held at the discretion of the family.
