Obituary

John E. Fedorko Jr. age 96, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Ann Klupzak Fedorko passed away on Wednesday February 2, 2011 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Fedorko, a WW II Veteran of the U.S. Army stationed in the Aleutian Islands, was born in Bridgeport to the late John Sr. and Julia (Kamenicky) Fedorko and has been a life long area resident. He retired from Sikorsky as a foreman in 1972 after thirty-one years of service, to lovingly care for his wife Ann, who was suffering from Alzheimer's disease. John was a lifetime member of the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist, Bridgeport and was a former curator there. He was also a member of American Legion Post#42-Stratford. John was an avid cigar smoker and gardener, and was a "Jack of all trades and a master of them all". Survivors include his devoted children John Fedorko of Ohio and Nancy Barger and her husband Bruce of Plantsville, his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren to whom he was very close Jeffrey Fedorko, Brian Fedorko and his wife Megan, Tambrey Hall and her husband Seth, Mark Bannon, James Bannon and his wife Holly, Timothy and Jonathan Bannon, and Bruce Barger, great-grandchildren Rya and Lara Hall, Lauren and Nikolas Fedorko, Jaden and Graham Bannon, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents he was pre-deceased by his daughter-in-law Sandra Fedorko and brothers Michael, John, Stephen, Andrew, William, and sisters Julia Kravec, Mary Gabrys, Margaret Jankura, Elizabeth Fuchs, and Dorothy Weaver. Funeral services will take place on Monday February 7th at 9:15 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford and at 10 a.m. in St. John's Orthodox Church Bridgeport for a Requiem Funeral Service. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John's Cemetery Stratford. Friends may call on Sunday from 2- 5 p.m. Panachida at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make donations to St. John's Sr. "R" Club Scholarship fund in John's memory.
