John N. Fedak "Pooner", age 78 of Stratford passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2009 in his home. Born in Bridgeport to the late John and Anna (Pavlik) Fedak, he has been a life long area resident. John was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean Conflict, and was retired for the town of Easton. He was a huge Boston Red Sox and NY Giants fan. He enjoyed gardening and absolutely loved his tomato plants. Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years Joan Marshall Fedak; 2 sons John Fedak and wife Andrea of Stratford and Peter Fedak and his wife Taryn of Summit, NJ; 4 daughters: Lynn Wellington and her husband Keith of West Palm Beach, FL, Janice Genetti of Stratford, Laura Quintiliano and her husband Glenn of Monroe and Julie Fedak of London, England; a brother Robert Fedak of Fairfield and a sister Alice Campbell of Bridgeport. 10 grandchildren: Ryan and Sarah Wellington, Nichole, Ashley and Zachary Fedak, Joseph and Julia Genetti, Danielle and Jenna Quintiliano, and Madison Fedak. A sister Barbara Debish predeceased him. His buddies at the Corner Deli will also miss him terribly. The family would like to thank the staff of the DaVita Dialysis Group in Shelton for the great care given to John. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 9:15 am in the Adzima Funeral home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Holy Name of Jesus church Stratford at 10:00 am and interment with Full Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7pm.
