John J. Duly, age 88, of Stratford, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 in Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Bridgeport on May 17, 1928 son of the late John Duly and Mary Talarick Duly-Dragan-Onze. John was a retired Postal Supervisor and Finance Examiner in the Bridgeport and New Haven Sectional Center. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany during the Korean War. John was a member of American Legion Post 42, a life member of America-St. John's Lodge AF&AM, Baldwin Chapter, Adam Sattig Council, 32 Degree Lafayette Consistory, Pyramid Shriners, New Haven Police Square Club, Garibaldi Masonic Club, The Masonic Veterans Association Sword of Bunker Hill. He was also a member of the AARP, The Baldwin Center and St. John's Russian Orthodox Church, Bridgeport. Survivors include his nephew, Kurt Kearney of Milford, and nieces, Donna Kearney of Texas and Karen Anastasio of Simsbury. In addition to his parents, John was pre-deceased by his sister, Emily Kearney. Funeral services are private and have been entrusted to the Adzima Funeral Home-Stratford.
